Social Stamping blog host – Sunshine

Hello everybody and welcome to the eighth Social Stamping blog host brought to us by the wonderful Kelly Kent to bring together demonstrators to help and support each other during these challenging times.  I have learnt so much and collected lots of ideas for future projects, you certainly are a very talented group of ladies.

Thankfully here in the West is that as from Monday there will be lifting of some of our restrictions i.e. we will be allowed to travel between some of our internal boundaries, meet in groups of up to 20 people and the restaurants, cafes and bars will be allowed to open and take patrons up to 20 with the proviso that Social Distancing is being observed. Hopefully at last we are on the road to getting back to normal.

The theme for this blog host is Sunshine. To me Sunshine is warm and happy and I must admit that I did struggle at first but after a lot of thought I decided went with the soon to be retired stamp set Painted Harvest to create my own sunshine, I must admit that I haven’t used this set a lot but it was perfect for what I wanted to create – a warm flowerpot of sunflowers.

The flowerpot was made by cutting out the largest Stitched Nesting Label die out of the woodgrain design in the Pressed Petals DSP, I cut a small part off the top and attached a 5/8” piece of the same DSP a fraction longer than width of the pot, I made a mask and placed it where I wanted it on the Whisper White matt and stamped a sunflower at either end.  For the background sunflowers I stamped a sunflower on a scrap of Whisper White and fussy cut it before placing it in the middle of the pot on dimensionals. The leaves were stamped on Pear Pizzaz cardstock with Old Olive ink and cut out with the leaf punch and adhered behind the middle sunflower. The sentiment is from the Under the Umbrella stamp set which I stamped in Early Espresso ink on Crushed Curry cardstock and attached it to the flowerpot with Dimensionals.

To complement my card I raided my retired DSP stack  and made a gift bag using the sunflower design from the Painted Autumn pack. The bag used two sheets of DSP but I was very pleased with the final result, I used Daffodil Delight crinkle ribbon and a matching tag to finish it off.
