Social Stamping – Hearts

Thanks for stopping by for this weeks Social Stamping blog host which has been organised by the amazing Kelly Kent. Kelly has done a wonderful job of keeping demonstrators connected during Covid-19 by organising this blog host every week.

The theme for this week is Hearts.  Hearts can mean I Love You, I am thinking of you, Thank You or even Just Because. I have chosen to use the hearts to say Thank You and have come up with two completely different cards. There are many people that I would like to say thank you to for keeping us safe and it is good to make something different.

For the first one I have brought out my Grace’s Garden bundle for the first time and used Highland Heather as my feature colour, this set reminds me of an English country garden. The card base is Highland Heather and I have used Dark Highland Heather and Dark Daffodil Delight blends to colour in the flowers with Light Old Olive for the leaves.  The die cut leaves and flowers have been cut from Old Olive and Daffodil Delight cardstock.  My little birdie is coloured in Light Night of Navy.

I have carried the sentiment to the inside and added more flowers to finish it all off.

For my second card I chose Real Red for my card base.  The matted layer is from the soon to be retired From My Heart DSP, I then added a Stitched Rectangle matt in Whisper White which I had embossed with the Tufted Dynamic Embossing Folder.  The flowers are from the Bloom and Grow stamp set, I coloured them in with Real Red, Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive blends before die cutting them with the matching Budding Bloom die set. The sentiment on the Real Red heart is also from the Bloom and Grow stamp set and is white heat embossed, I added some silver metallic thread to the back before attaching it with dimensionals.

Next up on the blog host is the wonderful Andrea Mears, click on the Next button and it will take you to Andrea’s post to see what she is sharing this week.

  1. I agree Sheila, clever use on the theme to use the word for the 1st card and a great colour choice.
The 2nd is bold and vibrant and I like the little bit of metallic thread tucked in.

  2. Both lovely cards. I like how you used the sentiment on the inside and outside of the card – it’s a lovely touch.
