Hello everybody and thank you for joining me for the November Social Stamping blog host. As the festive season is almost here the theme for this blog host is Merry and Bright. Covid19 has made 2020 a year we will never forget but I am determined that it isn’t going to spoil my Christmas.
My projects for this blog host is an Easel card with a matching gift box. Being a traditional Christmas girl my colour scheme is Shaded Spruce, Real Red and Whisper White.
For the card I started with a Shaded Spruce 11” x 4 1/8” card base scored at 5 1/2” and 2 3/4”, each of the three panels has a Real Red matt and I layered the top and bottom panels with the plaid design from the Tis The Season DSP, I opted not to add DSP to the middle section to give a contrast.
The upright panel also is also in the same colours, the sentiment and holly leaves are from the retired Merry Christmas To All set which I love and definitely won’t part with. To enable the card to stand up I added a piece on the bottom of the card using the same three colours, I added dimensionals to the bottom two layers and used adhesive to attach the Whisper White layer, this gives it the height to allow the card to stand up.
The matching gift box is made using a Mini Pizza Box which has been layered with the same colour cardstock and DSP. The “Merry” is die cut using the retired Merry Christmas dies, I have again used the Merry Christmas to all stamp set for the sentiment, the border was heat embossed with silver embossing powder and die cut.
Merry Christmas to you all, have a wonderful festive season and happy crafting
