Paper Adventures August blog hop – Banners

Paper Adventures Header

Hello and welcome to the Paper Adventures August blog hop. Our guest designer this month is Melissa Gifford who is not only my friend but also a very talented designer, thank you Melissa for joining us for our August blog hop.

A big Hi if you have arrived here from Narelle’s blog post, you will certainly have seen some wonderful projects. The theme for this month is Banners.  Banners can be used in so many different ways, they can be used as a celebration, as the main focus of a project, or as I am going to use them – as a focal point for my sentiment.

One of my favourite bundles in the new 2020/2021 annual catalogue is the Celebrate Sunflowers bundle.  This bundle is extremely versatile and can be used in so many different ways.

My project is going to be sent to very dear friends in Victoria who are in lockdown in Melbourne due to the resurgence of the Covid-19 virus.  I wanted to let them know that we are thinking of them at this very difficult time and hope that soon they will be back to some sort of normality.  I also sent them some happy mail cards for them to send to their family and friends and share the love.

My card today was CASE’d from stampitupwithjamie. The card base is So Saffron to which I have added a matt of Mango Melody, this was then topped with a layer of the In Good Taste DSP.

The sunflower was stamped in Mango Melody on So Saffron cardstock and the die cut with the solid die and topped with a Mango Melody detailed image die. I stamped the leaves in Old Olive on Old Olive cardstock and again die cut them.  I attached to leaves to the back of the sunflower and adhered it with dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Lovely You stamp set, I stamped it onto a piece of 3/4” Whisper White card stock and punched it out using the new banner punch, I also punched out a piece of Old Olive card stock with the banner punch. I adhered them together and placed them on the card using dimensionals.

I carried the Sunflowers through to the inside of the card and the envelope, I think that this little touch gives the finished card a very professional look.

I love the way that the combination of colours I have used go so well together to create a warm and happy card.

Thank you for joining me on this blog hop, I hope you have enjoyed reading how I made my card. Next on the blog hop is my very good friend Siobhan, Siobhan’s designs are amazing and I know you will love them. Click on the Next button which will take you straight to Siobhan’s blog post.

Happy  Crafting everybody and Stay Safe 😊

  1. This certainly is warm and happy, and matches the sentiment perfectly. Such beautiful stamping and layering of the sunflower. I love the extra touch of the flowers on the inside as well. 🙂 Siobhan.
