Hi everybody and welcome to another Social Stamping blog host . The theme today is Sympathy, one that we all know we will need but don’t like to think of having to use it. I love that we can use our passion for cardmaking to let family and friends know that we are thinking of them during a very sad time.
I have made two different cards today, the first one is very soft and subtle and for the second one I have used brighter colours. Both of them will let the recipient know that I am thinking of them.
For the first one I used Whisper White for the card base and a Soft Sea Foam matt which I have embossed with the new 3D Tasteful Textile embossing folder. I then die cut different sized Stitched Rectangles leaving the Whisper White to show through. You could also use the rectangle cut out pieces slotted back into the space either with glue or dimensionals.
The flowers are stamped and die cut from The Grace’s Garden suite and coloured in with dark Purple Posy and dark Mint Macaron blends, I then adhered them into the negative space of the rectangles using dimensionals.
As I don’t have any Soft Sea Foam ribbon I made my own using white crinkled ribbon and my dark SSF blend. I love how Stampin’ Up products are so versatile. To finish off my card I added the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.
I decided that for my second card I would use the flowers from the Beautiful Friendship stamp set to create a half wreath, this stamp set can be used in for so many different occasions.
For the sentiment I brought out the Well Said stamps and Well Written dies, this bundle covers any occasion and complement each other very well. The colours for this card are Whisper White and Purple Posy for the card base and Matt and Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Just Jade inks for the stamping. The sympathy sentiment was die cut out of Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
Thank you for visiting my post and I look forward to showing more projects in the weeks to come. Next on the blog host is my good friend Narelle from eleventhhourstamping.com, click on the Next button to see what beautiful projects she has created this week.
