Paper Adventures team blog hop – Colour Challenge

Paper Adventures Header

Hello everybody and welcome to our April blog hop, if you have already started the hop and have arrived here from the creative Mandy you will have already seen some amazing creations, if this is your first stop thank you for stopping by.

The theme for this blog hop is Colour Challenge and the colours are Pretty Peacock, Whisper White and Melon Mambo.  This is definitely a challenge for me as I have never thought of putting these colours together but once I actually thought about what I could do it became fun.

For my first card I have used a technique by Gail Ellis from Blue Rose Paper Treasures in which she embossed embossing powder on Embossing Paste, this is the link to the Utube tutorial –

I used the large doily mask from Pattern Party Decorative Masks  and covered a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock with Embossing Paste, this was then covered in white embossing powder and heat set.

Once it had cooled down I cut 3 pieces using a stitched rectangle and mounted them onto Whisper White cardstock.

The card base is Pretty Peacock onto which I have added a piece of Lily Impressions DSP. The embossed layers are stuck down, I used two layers for the sentiment and raised up on dimensionals with a piece of Pretty Peacock ribbon underneath.

For my second card I reversed the colours using Melon Mambo for the card base, the matt is Pretty Peacock which I stamped with a daisy from Delightful Daisy, the square DSP is from the 6” x 6” DSP which is matted onto a Whisper White layered square and adhered onto the card. For the daisies I have used the large and small ones from Daisy Lane and attached them with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Daisy Lane.

This has been a fun challenge and I would like to thank Kelly for once again setting a great blog hop theme. Next on the hop is my good friend Anne Barker, follow the link below to Facebook to see what she has created for you today.
