Hello and welcome to my first Paper Adventures team blog hop of 2020. Our guest designer for this month is Laura Mackie, Laura is a very talented designer from the UK, thank you Laura for agreeing to be part of our team blog hop. The theme for February is “Sketch”
If you have been following this hop from the start you will have arrived here from Mandy Depiazzi. Mandy creates beautiful projects and I know that you will have loved what she has showcased.
For my projects I have used the Dressed to Impress suite from the new 2020 Mini Catalogue, this is a very feminine suite that can be used in all sorts of different ways.
My first card is for that friend or family member who loves shoes, and lets face it who doesn’t love shoes, I know I do. I began by using versamark ink to create a background and added a strip of DSP with more shoes, for my pretty red shoes I stamped and die cut then I used SU blends to colour them and finished off with Wink of Stella. I adhered them onto a die cut Stitched Shape oval which was then mounted onto a die cut scalloped oval. Finally I added the sentiment, I love this sentiment, it sums it all up.
For my second card I flipped the sketch round and made it landscape. The DSP I used is the flip side of the one I used on my first card, see how versatile this DSP is, two completely different cards from one piece of patterned paper. To add texture I dry embossed the Purple Posy Matt with the Tufted Embossing Folder, to me this folder creates a luxurious feel to the card. The sentiment was stamped onto a Stitched Shape circle die and adhered to a die cut scalloped circle, this was attached with dimensionals, to finish the card off I stamped and die cut the flower, coloured in with blends then attached it with a dimensional.
