Paper Adventures August Team hop – Photo Inspiration

Paper Adventures Header

Hi everybody and welcome to our Paper Adventures August team blog hops and a big hello to Ellen Woodbridge who is our guest designer for this blog hop.  The theme for this month is Photo Inspiration using this photo to inspire us.

I decided to use the Pressed Petals Speciality DSP from the new catalogue. I must admit that when I first saw this in the new annual catalogue it wasn’t high on my wish list of must haves, but after seeing so many wonderful projects using it it quickly went on my list.

My project today uses Crumb Cake for the 5” square card base and I topped it with a layer of Merry Merlot DSP from the new Neutrals Colour Collection. The flowers were lovingly fussycut from the Pressed Petal DSP and layered to give depth with a touch of Wink of Stella to finish.  I attached the heart with dimensional to a Whisper White Matt and matted onto Merry Merlot.  I added  a piece of Burlap to give the card a rustic look.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my project, next is the talented Mandy.

  1. Beautiful card, Sheila. I love the square shape and I admire you for all that fussy cutting. I love how this DSP works with so many reds/pinks/purples, the pairing of Merry Merlot you’ve chosen is gorgeous. The little strip of burlap is just the right finishing touch. 🙂 Siobhan.
